ABOUT

Ryan Henry Knight is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, and creative director from Alexandria, VA. He is known for telling genre-bending, emotionally resonant stories that blend surrealism, social commentary, and raw visual storytelling.

A graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design, Ryan’s work has screened and been recognized globally—at Austin Film Festival, the BAFTA-qualifying Aesthetica Film Festival, the Gary International Black Film Festival, and NFFTY, where his haunting short Run Away, They’ll See Us was nominated for Best Experimental Short, and was selected as Senior Programmer Robert Bojorquez’s top pick in its program.

At 18, Ryan became the youngest recipient of both the Golden Script Competition and NYISA for his psychological thriller And Home We Came, and was awarded the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Fellowship in Film & Video. He later co-founded two production companies: Director’s Company and Imaginary Friends House.

Acclaimed filmmaker Kentucker Audley (Strawberry Mansion, Sylvio) praised Ryan as “a fiercely ambitious filmmaker and a promising young voice” for his work on Ludere and You Almost Saw Me—the latter earning Best Director at Trinity Film Festival. He is in development of his feature film, Loverboy.
